State-level landfill restrictions and Extended Producer Responsibility programmes are steadily removing disposal options — California, for example, manages end-of-life PV modules under its universal waste rules. In parallel, federal manufacturing incentives tied to domestic content requirements are raising demand for domestically recovered aluminium, silicon and silver. Recovered material sourced in-country can contribute toward meeting those content thresholds.

The WEEE Directive already places photovoltaic modules under producer responsibility with mandated recovery rates, and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) will extend requirements toward recycled content and product-level information. Taiwan

Decommissioned photovoltaic modules are regulated by the Ministry of Environment under waste code D-2528, with mandatory reporting through the official PV recycling information system. We handle registration, weight logging and filing as part of the service.

On air, not just water

A dry mechanical process produces no wastewater. What it does produce is dust, and heat-assisted separation can release volatile compounds — so those, not water, are what the controls on this kind of plant have to be built around, and what an environmental audit should be asking about. We would rather raise that here than let a claim of "zero emissions" rest on water alone.
